Across campus and beyond, Davidson constituents look forward to a bold reimagining of the Library that ensures its central place in the life and mission of the College into the future. The next Leland M. Park Director of Davidson College Library will lead this charge. The Director consults and collaborates with a broad array of College departments and divisions, including the Center for Teaching and Learning and Technology & Innovation as well as Facilities, Student Life, and Public Safety.
Davidson’s new Library Director will be an innovative, collaborative, user-centered, and highly professional leader who will advance the College’s mission by achieving and sustaining excellence in Library planning, management, and operations. Requirements for the role include a graduate degree (MLS from an ALA-accredited institution, PhD, or equivalent), demonstrated commitment to the academic values of rigorous inquiry, intellectual integrity, inclusive practices, and respect for scholarly and creative endeavors on the part of faculty and students. As do students, staff, and faculty, the Director will embody the College’s commitment to integrity. Candidates should have at least eight years of relevant professional experience.
