Visiting Assistant Professor of Film, Media and Digital Studies

English, Film and Media Studies, and Digital Studies at Davidson College invite applications for a full-time, two-year visiting position, beginning in July 2019. (MFA or established professional profile required.) Applicants must demonstrate creative promise and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. Courses offered should make the study of film and visual culture integral to a liberal arts education by combining production/creation with critical analysis. They will focus on film production and screenwriting at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced level. Specializations may include documentary, short narrative film, serialized production, and trans-media forms. The successful job candidate will also have a record of creative production activity that could include screenings, exhibitions, and commissioned works, as well as connections to the film industry. The teaching load is five courses per year and will be cross-listed with English, Film and Media Studies, and Digital Studies.
