The Latin American Studies Department seeks a visiting assistant professor of Latin American Studies for a two-year appointment. Open to specialists in Latin American and Latinx Studies with preference for a research focus on social movements, the arts, or cultural studies. The successful candidate will have a PhD (by July 1, 2019) in a social science or humanities field, an active research agenda in Latin American Studies, and a demonstrated record of, or potential for, excellence in undergraduate teaching. Teaching load is five courses per year. The candidate should be able to teach the Introduction to Latin American Studies survey and upper-level courses complementing existing offerings.
