The Davidson’s Fellows Program offers priority hiring to recent college graduates from the class of 2021 or 2020 to explore their career interests while learning valuable industry-specific skills.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the HR team and provide support primarily in the areas of employment, recruitment, onboarding, and special projects. They will assist in coordinating the work of student employees and manage all social media networking sites. The position is classified as non-exempt (hourly) for Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines.

Respond to inquiries related to the student employment hiring and application process. • Manage and maintain student employment records. • Coordinate all filing and correspondence to obtain and maintain accurate and complete employment folders for students. • Manage summer offer letters for student employees using DocuSign • Organize programs to promote employment opportunities to the student body. • Respond to inquiries regarding policies and procedures for student employees. • Work with departments to determine their needs for student coverage. • Assist with updating student records in Banner. • During peak employment periods (beginning of fall semester) assist with I9 verifications for student employees. • Review and approve job postings in Handshake (student career services platform).
Staff Employment & Recruitment
Audit job descriptions in PageUp and answer general questions about job postings and descriptions. • Ensure there is a job description for every available job. • Work with managers to change application statuses and move applicants from one job to another as necessary within the PageUp applicant tracking system. • Upload Faculty references to PageUp. • Manage and respond to employment email mailbox. • Respond to applicant inquiries regarding position status and assist applicants with application process. • Coordinate the hiring process with the HR employment team and/or hiring managers. • Manage social networking sites (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) to promote open positions and Davidson as a great place to work.
Liaise with International Student Programs to manage onboarding of International Student employees and track Social Security Card process and presentation to HR. • Update student I9 and Banner with social security number once it is presented for international student employees. • Assist at new student orientation.
Collaborate with HR team to identify, monitor, and schedule work projects/assignments eligible for student assistance. • Assist Office Manager with phone coverage and reception during vacation and time away from the office. • Assist with departmental mass mailings.
Projects assigned by supervisor based on need and interest of the successful candidate.
Preference given to Davidson College 2021 or 2020 graduates

Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook

Strong technology skills and ability to quickly learn new software
Interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources
Some knowledge of employment law and/or general human resources functions
Fluency in Spanish would be helpful
