Davidson College Dining Services is hiring a Pastry Cook to produce baked goods for the various dining facilities on campus. This is a full-time hourly position that is eligible for normal benefit programs.
Position Responsibilities: Assist bake shop in producing baked goods for our board plan at Vail Commons, the Davis Cafe and Much Ado Catering.
Prepare baked and cooked items according to standard recipes provided by supervisory staff; responsible for the utilization of leftover product and or ensure proper storage and refrigeration.
Perform clean-up of kitchen, utensils, and appliances; assist with proper storage of foods according to health code policy.
Responsible for helping with recycling efforts as required by the department and the college.
Knowledge of safe food handling practices and ensure compliance with state health guidelines.
Assist with food set-up for daily and catered events.
Assist in other areas of the kitchen such as hot food preparation, pantry, and catering if needed.
Required Qualifications: HS/GED. Must have baking experience that includes scratch baking and dessert decorating skills. Knowledge of safe food handling practices and ensure compliance with state health guidelines.
