Our purpose is to help you grow your talent and skills, while you help us solve technology problems for the college. Fellows positions are open to all recent graduates, although the college gives a hiring preference to Davidson graduates. For more details about the Fellows program, please see https://www.davidson.edu/offices-and-services/human-resources/work-davidson/fellows-program

We are seeking a class of 2020 or 2021 graduate to join Davidson College Technology & Innovation as a Web Hosting and Accessibility Fellow.

As time and your interests permit, you will be able to gain exposure to other web technologies including API-driven development and integration.

As a Davidson Fellow working on a close-knit team with other technology professionals, you’ll get the support and training you need to grow and be successful. Please note that T&I staff, like most Davidson College staff, are currently working remotely, so this position is open to eligible persons in most parts of the United States; however, candidates are expected to be generally available during U.S. Eastern Time Zone business hours.

  • Learn and use scripting capabilities and automated remediation tools to support site migration processes

  • Develop working knowledge of web accessibility frameworks like the W3C’s WCAG 2.1

  • Assist in making non-HTML content (such as PDFs) accessible and compliant

  • Train faculty and staff on content management platforms for maintaining their websites going forward

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Excellent problem solving and analytic capabilities with the ability to present technical ideas in a straightforward and understandable manner

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Project and time management skills, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities (including in remote work scenarios)

  • Some knowledge of website development and maintenance in common content management platforms (such as WordPress)

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of relevant experience (student employment, coursework, or self-taught) in any Information Technology or Computer Science discipline.
