Visiting Assistant Professor Biology - Biochemistry

The Davidson College Biology Department invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in biochemistry, beginning 01 July 2021. The area of specialization should be in biochemistry, molecular biology or a related field. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in biology (or related field) by June 2021, ability and interest in teaching introductory biology and an upper-level biochemistry laboratory, and teaching experience in introductory cell/molecular biology. We seek an individual with demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, which includes fostering inclusive learning environments where all students can thrive. The annual teaching load is five courses over two semesters, which will be met through a combination of an introductory biology course plus lab (BIO113; counts as two courses), biochemistry plus lab (BIO303; counts as two courses), and an upper-level seminar or lecture course in the candidate’s area of expertise.
