The Davidson College Store Cashier/Specialist is primarily a cashier customer service position typically available days (some evenings, weekends) throughout the calendar year.
Store hours are typically 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Saturday. Due to the nature of social media and customer service needs, this position requires some attention to happenings outside of scheduled work hours
The position is responsible for customer service, cash register operation, web order fulfillment, re-stocking, packing & shipping, and other duties pertinent to daily operations of the Store.
This employee manages the Store's social media presence, particularly on Facebook. Creating posts, managing friend lists, followers, groups, and promotions. Web order fulfillment also requires frequent communication with customers via email and telephone, resolving claims, and ensuring the best possible customer experience.
Cash register, POS, Inventory management, and cash handling capabilities. Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs. Frequent use of small ladders. Excellent Customer service skills in speaking and writing. Phone with camera available to use and knowledge of Social media platforms. Sensitivity to diversity. Associate's degree in any field.
Some experience in college services, operations, or sales. Knowledge of local community and campus life. Retail sales experience. Flexible schedule. Professional demeanor.
