Assistant Professor in South Asian History

The History Department at Davidson College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in South Asian History beginning July 1, 2022. Candidates should be highly committed to excellence in both undergraduate teaching and scholarly research. Ph.D. in History or related field expected by June 30, 2022. The successful candidate will teach five courses each year (four in their first year) among them pre-modern and modern South Asian history surveys and upper-level courses of their own design. The candidate will also participate in the college’s South Asian Studies Program and Writing Program.
