Supervise the day to day operation of the Commons Market. This is a benefited 12 month, 40 hour per week position, and is required to work nights and weekends. The person working this position will have primary supervisory responsibilities in the Commons Market, but may be reassigned as needed to other departments within Dining Services.
Provide excellent customer service, greet students, provide them with item information, and direct them to the item's location in a store. Ensure compliance with departmental policies and regulations.
Ensure the enforcement of health, safety, and security rules. Collect feedback from students regarding product selection. Assist with storing, rotating, and restocking products.
Create attractive and inviting displays. Keep pricing tags and signage current. Assist with product ordering, modifying menu mix as needed. Oversee a small staff. Assist with hiring, training and disciplining 3 – 4 personnel. Change prices and inventory items as needed. Run closing reports and complete shift reports.
Ability to perform strenuous physical duties such as lifting, walking and standing for long periods.
Lift boxes up to 40 pounds
High school diploma or GED.
2 years of retail experience or supervising experience preferred.
Servsafe certified or be able to obtain within 60 days.
