The Pastry Chef is responsible for the planning and organization of daily and weekly workload, to account for all bake shop needs for Vail board plan, Much Ado catering, the Davis Café, and the Wildcat Den.

-Responsible for weekly work schedules of bakery staff.

-Menu development for Vail Dining program, Much Ado Catering, and the Davis Café.  This includes the research, costing, and execution of new bakery trends and customer needs.

-Performance evaluations on bakeshop staff.

-Assists in the production

-Responsible for weekly work schedules.

-Daily production lists

-To working with procurement to set up product standards, pars, and utilization.

-Provide customers of the Vail Commons board plan a variety of baked goods such as pastries, desserts, rolls, and a variety of specialty items.

-Assist the Catering department on events that require baked items such as appetizers, dinner rolls, breakfast pastries and muffins, and scratch made desserts with accompanying sauces and garnish.

-Provide pastries for the Guest House, Café, and the Wildcat Den daily.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-year Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Must have baking experience that includes scratch baking and dessert decorating skills.
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices and ensure compliance with state health guidelines.
  • Supervisory Experience
