We are requiring new employees hired into jobs posted after August 1, 2021, and all employees with a start date on or later than September 1, 2021, to be vaccinated to help protect the health and safety of our community. New employees will be required to submit proof of at least the first dose of a vaccine on or before their start date and proof of full vaccination no later than 5 weeks after their start date.  Please see the full new hire vaccination policy here.

The purpose of this position is to perform multi-skilled duties in the maintenance & repair of campus buildings, college housing and plant equipment. The position is responsible for receiving trouble calls during second shift and facilitating repairs.

This is a second shift position.  Normal working hours will be from 3:00 pm to 12:00 pm Monday thru Friday. The employee will perform Corrective Maintenance repairs, receive requests directly from customers, prioritize severity and urgency of request,  Service and repair equipment such as Air-Compressors, Indoor & Outdoor lighting along with emergency generators.

A High School diploma or GED is required along with a valid NC driver's license. The ability to work independently and safely without supervision is essential. The position requires someone with strong communication skills and the ability to judge and prioritize work and manage a variety of service calls.  Work will require working in awkward or cramped areas work and both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. After-hours duty is required on a rotating schedule to handle trouble calls. The position is classified as essential personnel during inclement weather and school closings.
