The Psychology Department at Davidson College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in Psychology position beginning July 1, 2022. The search is Open Area but with preference for Industrial-Organizational (ideally with expertise in social and/or cultural psychology). Length of contract term is 2 years. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong interest and the capacity for excellence in teaching in a liberal arts context and eagerness to join the department’s ongoing commitment to addressing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our curriculum.
The teaching load for the position is 5 courses over 2 semesters. The successful candidate will teach core courses within the department (e.g., introductory psychology, research methods & statistics) as well as courses in their area of expertise, including a survey course, and lab course. We provide visiting faculty with mentoring in teaching, support for research, and resources for professional development (e.g., conference travel funding).
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field by July 2022.
