English, Film and Media Studies, and Digital Studies at Davidson College invite applications for a full-time, two-year visiting position in film production and screenwriting, beginning in July 2022. MFA or established professional profile required. Applicants must demonstrate creative promise and a commitment to undergraduate teaching. Courses offered should make the study of film and visual culture integral to a liberal arts education by combining production/creation with critical analysis. The courses will focus on film production and screenwriting at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Specializations may include documentary, short narrative film, serialized production, and transmedia forms. The successful job candidate will also have a record of creative production that could include screenings, exhibitions, commissioned works, and other activities that have resulted in fruitful professional connections to the film and digital media industries. The teaching load is five courses per year and will be cross-listed with English, Film and Media Studies, and Digital Studies.
