One is a concise cover letter with discrete sections describing the candidate’s approach to teaching and a brief overview of research. The second is a statement of the candidate’s potential contributions to Davidson’s institutional commitment to diversity and inclusion, answering three prompts (1. describe your past experience or training in educational diversity, inclusion, equity, and/or justice (DEIJ) initiatives or practices, 2. in your past teaching or mentoring experiences (if applicable), how have you implemented DEIJ practices?, and 3. how would you implement DEIJ practices in your proposed teaching at Davidson College?). The third is the CV with names and contact information of references included within. The initial screening of candidates will be based on an evaluation of just the candidates’ statement of potential contributions to Davidson’s commitment to diversity and inclusive pedagogy.
