The Office of Alumni and Family Engagement in the division of College Relations seeks applications for an assistant director for early engagement who will devise strategies and develop opportunities to strengthen engagement and deepen an affinity for the college with a focus on young alumni and students. This position creates alumni social media plans; recruits, manages, and stewards alumni volunteers, executes alumni programs and events as appropriate and works with students and colleagues in the implementation of these strategies. 

The assistant director reports to the associate director of alumni and family engagement. 

What are the responsibilities for this position?

The Assistant Director is responsible for

  • the engagement strategies associated with Davidson's young alum and student engagement

  • strong collaboration with the annual giving team and student-facing campus partners

  • recruiting, training, and stewarding reunion volunteers (approximately 20)

  • engagement strategies for social media, planning, and implementation of these programs

  • providing training and supervisory support for student engagement ambassadors.

Flexible Work Location

Davidson College Relations has a flexible work location program in line with the College’s telecommuting policy. This position is eligible for partial flexibility in work location, during non-event days, as determined with the position’s manager and reviewed regularly through our performance management processes. Candidates should expect to maintain a residence within commuting distance of the Charlotte metro area. An initial campus orientation period (of several weeks to months) worked from the office may be required. This policy is reviewed periodically.
