The Gig-Hub Program Coordinator at the Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Davidson College will be responsible for all administration and daily operations of the Gig-Hub program at the Hurt Hub working directly with the Gig-Hub Program Manager. The Gig-Hub program offers Davidson students the opportunity to engage in paid short-term real-world projects with a diverse range of clients. This project-based work provides clients additional capacity to complete a new or ongoing project while allowing students to expand their skill set. This role reports to the Gig-Hub Program Manager and is responsible for matching students and clients to new gig opportunities, processing required employment paperwork to get projects ready to launch, serving as the main contact during gigs, and facilitating billing and payments. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for keeping impeccable records of gigs, student consultants and clients, and billing, as well as generating reports as requested. This person will play a key role on the Hurt Hub@Davidson team focused on expanding our successful Gig-Hub program, impacting the lives of hundreds of students and entrepreneurs seeking the best talent to grow their businesses.

They will have exceptional attention to detail and comfort with data, have experience working with people from all backgrounds, and be willing to contribute their innovative ideas to help grow the Gig-Hub program. Moreover, they will also have an unwavering focus on inclusion, equity, ethical behavior, and high quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with new Gig-Hub clients and collect information about their gig

  • Correspond with existing Gig-Hub clients to monitor project progress

  • Post new gigs to Handshake (Davidson College’s student employment system)

  • Collect and send student applications to clients for review

  • Coordinate student interviews with clients

  • Initiate the student hire process for new Gig-Hub Student Consultants

  • Follow up with clients and students as needed during the hiring / interview process

  • On a weekly basis, review and approve student hours in TimeClock+ (Davidson College’s student time reporting system)

  • On a monthly basis, email client invoices through QuickBooks

  • On a monthly basis, review grant funds allocated for specific gigs and track remaining funds

  • As requested by the Gig-Hub Program Manager and the W. Spencer Mitchem Director of the Hurt Hub, prepare summary reports, including detailed data analysis, on the strength and impact of the program

  • Partner with the Gig-Hub Program Manager to identify areas of growth for the Gig-Hub Program

  • Serve as a representative and evangelist for initiatives at the Hurt Hub@Davidson, across campus, and within our community to drive greater awareness and involvement

Role Qualifications:

  • At least three years in role(s) that requires coordinating projects, managing timelines, and engaging multiple stakeholders 

  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a positive outlook and focus on successful delivery

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and written communication skills as well as the ability to work well with all members of a diverse college community

  • A deep understanding of and focus on diversity, equity and inclusion

  • Ability to actively seek feedback on existing initiatives and believe in continuous improvement through analysis and measurable outcomes

  • Willingness to ask for help and understand the limits of your knowledge, with an insatiable curiosity and desire to learn

  • Ability to work with existing Google Drive documents and create new ones

  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills

  • Thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness in completing essential duties

  • Detail-oriented and comfortable with data analysis 

  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team setting; ability to effectively receive supervisory direction

  • Proficiency with computers, technology devices, software, and applications

  • Ability to learn and use new technologies, software, and applications at a level of proficiency appropriate for the position's duties

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
