Davidson College is seeking a motivated individual to perform work on the Project Crew in the Physical Plant.
Primary Duties:
Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for college and special events. Move office furniture, equipment, and operate heavy equipment.
Use forklifts, buffers, trucks, pressure washers, automatic scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
Collect and deliver supplies to all campus facilities. Make pickups and deliveries of stages, office furniture, boxes, bedroom furniture, etc. on campus and off campus.
Other tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. Basic computer skills needed.
Valid NC driver's license with good driving skills and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Must have working knowledge of best practices for the cleaning industry including chemicals, tools, and equipment; OSHA regulations, blood borne pathogens, and Personal Protective Equipment.
Work in indoor and some outdoor environments; exposure to hazardous chemicals and solutions. Requires standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and handle heavy duty cleaning machines. Ability to climb multiple stairs, particularly carrying loads is required.
Certification in forklift operation preferred. Needs a working knowledge of buffers, trucks, pressure washers, automatic scrubbers, and floor maintenance.
The Opportunity:
