The Instrumentation Support position provides technical and research management and support for the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Physics, and Psychology. The primary purpose of the position is to manage, service, diagnose, and repair laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including routine maintenance. Support includes searching for replacement parts and services and scheduling professional maintenance services. The position seeks to limit downtime and minimize interruptions to lab work and research while saving on fabrication and repair costs. The position also provides opportunities for designing and building new apparatus and for mentoring student fabrication projects and events.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree, or vocational or technical school degree – Field of study: mechanical or other technical field.
Five or more years of progressive technical work experience in an area such as mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, or computer service work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
