Davidson College is seeking a motivated individual to perform custodial and maintenance work in the Athletic Department.
Primary Duties:
Custodial and maintenance services to areas within the Athletic Department primarily but, not limited to the Baker Sports Complex. The work will include regular cleaning and maintenance to assigned areas, preparing the building for closing and locking down the facility at the close of business hours. Some event setup and break down along with post event clean up during certain times of the year.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. Basic computer skills needed.
Valid NC driver's license with good driving skills and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Prefer a working knowledge of buffers, trucks, pressure washers, automatic scrubbers and floor maintenance.
Must have working knowledge of best practices for the cleaning industry including chemicals, tools, and equipment; OSHA regulations, blood borne pathogens, and Personal Protective Equipment.
Work in indoor and some outdoor environment; exposure to hazardous chemicals and solutions. Requires standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending and reaching. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and handle heavy duty cleaning machines. Ability to climb multiple stairs, particularly carrying loads is required.
The Opportunity:
This is a part time position working 10 months per year, August through May. Monday through Thursday schedule 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
