Administrative Services Fellow

Overview

The Davidson College Fellows program provides graduating seniors or 2022 graduates an entry-level, one-year or two-year term-limited position in an information technology field. Our purpose is to help you grow your talent and skills, while you help us solve technology problems for the college. Fellows positions are open to all recent graduates. The Administrative Services Fellow is responsible for assisting in the stewardship, operation, and business processes related to Davidson College’s Oracle Cloud HCM, ERP, and EPM systems. They will be part of a cross-departmental team responsible for supporting users during the implementation of our Oracle Cloud systems. This support includes but is not limited to: delivering training (in-person or online), walking users through new processes, being readily available in offices for questions, helping users configure the application to their preferences, developing documentation, and communicating requests and changes needed to our implementation partner. The Administrative Services Fellow will also have testing responsibilities, both during implementation and post-launch.    

A successful candidate is not necessarily one who has already mastered or even been exposed to the duties described below. Rather, a successful candidate is someone with exposure to many disciplines (technological or otherwise); someone who possesses a strong problem solving mindset and a self-directed learning philosophy. These traits will allow the candidate to flourish in the Fellow role, and cultivate a modern skill set that will help you in your future career or graduate study.

As a Davidson Fellow working on a close-knit team with other technology professionals, you’ll get the support and training you need to grow and be successful.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, understandable and empathetic manner.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills, allowing the Administrative Service Fellow to interface comfortably with colleagues and constituents inside and outside of Davidson T&I.

  • Project and time management skills, with ability to effectively manage competing priorities.

  • Possesses a “can-do” attitude, self-starter and initiative with new projects.

  • Desire to deliver great user experiences with technology.

Desired Skills & Abilities

  • One or more years of relevant experience (student employment, coursework, or self-taught) in any Information Technology or Computer Science Discipline.

  • Knowledge of the inner workings of academic and administrative departments.

  • Experience developing or delivering training.

  • Proficient with Google Suite and Zoom.
