From the email system, to Zoom, to event booking, low code apps, and beyond - we’re looking for someone who can weave in and out of Davidson’s most popular communication and collaboration tools, solving problems, responding to incidents, fulfilling requests, and taking notes as they go. Over time, we’d like this person to become the go-to authoritative expert in these systems: writing documentation, building training programs, and staying on top of changes as each system evolves - all while keeping the user experience of our faculty, staff, and students as their #1 priority. Who are you? Over the course of your career as an IT professional, you’ve acquired the skills, education, and experience required to master new applications quickly and easily. Over time, you've acquired a comprehensive understanding of what makes the Internet tick, and acronyms like DNS, API and SMTP are quite familiar to you. You’ve used cloud communication and collaboration tools (think Zoom, Office 365, or G Suite) to work closely with your colleagues and get things done. “Software as a Service” (SaaS) has been a big part of your work life for a while now, and at some point, you even became the primary administrator of one of these applications. In previous roles, you’ve demonstrated an ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. You’ve also proven yourself to be an empathetic and curious listener, which allows you to get to the root of things. Over the course of your career, you’ve continuously sought out ways to make things more efficient, and you can list a few examples of automations you developed or efficiencies you proposed that saved your employer or colleagues time, frustration, money, or effort. 

We don’t expect you to have experience with all of our platforms, or possess all of the necessary skills on day 1. Rest assured that Davidson T&I is committed to investing the time and resources required to train and onboard product owners. Eventually, if selected for this role, you’ll grow into the expert product owner we need you to be.

Compensation

T&I is committed to salary transparency in the hiring process as a characteristic of an inclusive organization. Our salaries are benchmarked to national liberal arts colleges and regional colleges and universities. The position hiring manager is happy to discuss our salary benchmarks at any stage of the interview process. Davidson College also offers numerous other benefits as an employer, including:

Flexible Work Location

Davidson T&I has a flexible work location program in line with the College’s telecommuting policy. This position is eligible for partial flexibility in work location, as determined with the position’s manager and reviewed regularly through our performance management processes. Candidates should expect to maintain a residence within commuting distance of the Charlotte metro area. An initial campus orientation period (of several weeks to months) worked from the office may be required.
